Hosted by friends of Socrates in the City, we are delighted to invite you to the new Central Texas Socrates Book Club.
We will be reading C.S. Lewis’ classic, The Great Divorce, first published in 1945 and based on a theological dream vision of his in which he embarks on an adventure between Heaven and Hell.
We will be meeting on July 28th at 6pm; club members will gather in Salado, TX, and receive a copy of the book at the event. Together we’ll read aloud excerpts and share the kind of conversations Socrates in the City is known for: asking life’s biggest questions with humor and even, perhaps, a bit of fun. All we ask is that you show up!
After the main discussion, stick around for lite bites and cocktails, and time to connect. To gather together with a group of thoughtful, like-minded people and wrestle with the deeper questions of life, God, history, and other “small topics” is what this community is all about.
